World Day of Remembrance of Traffic Victims 2024
The 2024 World Day of Remembrance for Traffic Victims in Kenya was commemorated on November 17 in Tharaka Nithi County. The event, which highlighted the significant human and economic toll of road traffic accidents, saw active participation from the Road Safety Association of Kenya (RSAK) alongside other stakeholders like the Digital Boda Drivers and Deliveries Association of Kenya (DBDDAK) and the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).
The day focused on honoring the approximately 3,000 lives lost annually on Kenyan roads and advocating for enhanced road safety measures, such as stricter enforcement of traffic laws, improved infrastructure, and public education. RSAK joined calls for collective action to achieve the vision of zero road traffic fatalities and aligned with ongoing national efforts to enhance road user safety.
